Donna Buchan Evening Romance

“Evening Romance” by Donna Buchan

Another Muskoka artist inspired by Algonquin Park is Donna Buchan.  What I like about her work is the way she captures the colours of the skies and the waters in her landscapes.  If you’ve spent any time or lived in Muskoka you know that these colours are not imaginary … they’re very real.   Be they the bright blue of a crisp winter morning or the pink, orange, lavender and green of an evening sunset, the colours are breathtaking.

“Gift of the Sky” by Donna Buchan
“look up to the skies … there is your gift
– it’s all around us.
Nature completes another endless circle
– this one of light – another gift to her children.”

I’ve seen Donna’s work exhibited in Huntsville and may even have taken one of her workshops through the Huntsville Art Society.  Donna is also one of the mural artist of the Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery that I’ve featured in other posts.  You can check out her Joyful Paints website and blog for more of her paintings and to find out where she’ll be exhibiting.
